I require a 40k sevice on a 03 Patrol cab chassis but when I phoned Nissan they quoted $1100 . Normally I would do it myself but want to keep the waranty so need to use a accredited mechanic.

Need to know a good mechanic that knows his stuff on fourbys. Perferably located around Clayton (melb) or close to.

Any suggestion appreciated.

What do you get for that? Ask for a list. Also call several Nissan dealers.

Ultratune?

Usually one of the first few services are fuckin expensive as they do the works down to repacking wheelbearings etc

It would be nearly a full day job + bits.

And they have to manage to pay the apprentice $8ph too ya know.

Includes all filters, tappet adjustment and wheel bearings. Tried 2 dealers and they quoted about the same $. I know this takes time to do but it still seems to be a rip off.

ARB Southern (Dandenong) was around $800 for 40k service. Nissan recomend changing all fluids (radiator, brake etc) that is how they justify the expense.

Most reputable (?) 4wd service centres charge around the $750 - $800 mark.
