turbo4 or vee8

which would be cheaper to upgrade my 13bt or go injected vee8 to get 450 to 500 nm
good call. a stocker 13B-T in a middy will happily turn 35's at 110km/h on the highway all day long, and with some help from gearing (4.56's, transfer gears) would be happy pulling 38's.bad_religion_au wrote:why do you "need" these numbers? could a well thought out drivetrain make up for the lack of dyno braggin?
You are crazy if you do any serious power mods without intercooling. The intercooler will help keep your EGT's lower - making your engine last longer.frp88 wrote:in a manual you guys are right but the gearing in the auto kills any speed its only 25:1 1st in low with my mongrels i have no power problems but i put on my cousins 35/15/15 mickeys and it was flat to the floor to get up the same hill.he runs the inj. 5l i havent done any mod to engine on the list is new exhaust and getting the inj. cleaned i know if i up the fuel i can up the boost i dont what to intercool it but lpg i like
so why not throw some lower diff ratio's in and call it good?frp88 wrote:in a manual you guys are right but the gearing in the auto kills any speed its only 25:1 1st in low with my mongrels i have no power problems but i put on my cousins 35/15/15 mickeys and it was flat to the floor to get up the same hill.he runs the inj. 5l i havent done any mod to engine on the list is new exhaust and getting the inj. cleaned i know if i up the fuel i can up the boost i dont what to intercool it but lpg i like
why would i intercool i thought the lpg cools the boosted air because its so cold and the fuelpump and turbo are not getting changed plus i not going to tune it myself i going to a shop for thatISUZUROVER wrote:You are crazy if you do any serious power mods without intercooling. If you want to mod it, the order should be:
Intercooler
Turbo (if you want to change it)
Boost and Fuel
LPG
And before you do any of that, fit an EGT guage so you don't kill the engine, and make sure the timing, pump and injectors are all 100%.
