I believe that the max is a 1600 turbo. I was going to turbo my 1600 efi vitara engine but lack of funds prevented me from doing so. This is able to be mod plated in QLD. I did the research but this was 18 months ago so I am not sure if its changed since then though.

Diesel might be different - It's based on "perception of available power"

its all good.i checked today and found out you can fit this legally.although the suzuki is not classed as a passenger vehicle nor a commercial vehicle
but as it has a full chassis you can fit pretty much anything providing it meets A D R rules.its a small grey area that we have discovered.that came from the mouth of the D.O.T machinary fellow i spoke to.then it was confirmed by an engineer also.the cheapest TD i could find was in sydney(long motor with loom and computer)for $3500.ive ordered another 1.6 efi vitara(should have just kept the old one)that will show up tomorrow.im going to run a toyota supercharger on it.

Strange - I wanted to do the same (toyota supercharger). Let me know how you go getting things up and running with the supercharger.

I did some research online and found that there was a 1.9 diesel engine availble in Europe and Britain too - but I thought it was the Peugot 1.9 out of the 205 but there was no more information available except "1.9 Diesel".

It may be that it was the same 1.9 VW engine.
