Hey Shawn
I made my mounting section outta 6mm plate and has 5 M12 bolts per side ............. I havent had any dramas as of yet with it and it has had some load particulary dead line pulls and pullin the shitbox back onto its wheels after the flop and that was pullin from side on ................( you have my pics so that should give ya a reasonable idea of wat I did ) ..........
Although if you are after the over engineering nature 8mm is the go ......I have been told by other people with very similair tube bars as to mine that they have sinced beefed up the mounting of future bars to 8mm ............ just make sure that once you work out the mounting that you also run plates down the inside of the chassis rails incorporating the mounting bolts so that you wont pull the nuts through the chassis wall .

8mm plate, 3 M12 bolts, and most importantly, crush tubes
ignore the plate on the outside of the chassis rail
