Anyone had a tube bar for a Vitara made lately?

Okay, I will soon have a LWB 92 - 94 (4 dr estate or equiv) Vitara soon (replacing the Prado) and am interested in fitting my old Warn XD9000 to it. Most of the options I have for commercial winchbars for the Vitara seem to be only ARB or custom.

I don't mind the ARB bar, however at $950 locally (and apparantly only designed for a 6000lb lowmount) I'm thinking I meet be able to get a custom tube bar made up that will take the Warn and still be okay as a daily driver and look heaps better than the ARB (not that looks are everything.... )

I have done a search through the posts and looked at the Vitara bible and it has helped me immensely whilst planning what the unsuspecting Vitara will be put through, but I can't seem to find any local contacts who can do this sort of work. The only place I can find is Snake racing, but am after as many options as possible.

Can anyone help?

Cheers

Thanks Guys

The tube bar that you had made up SiKiD by OverKill? Is that winch compatible, because that is exactly the type of look I'd be chasing  . Actually it looks awfully similar to a bar on another Vitara that was apparently made by Snake Racing.

I'll give Sam a ring today. Thanks heaps guys.

By the way

What did Overkill charge you for the bar? If it works out to be heaps dearer than the ARB option I'll be sticking with it, or having a go myself with my new MIG :x

i think its probably best to give sam a call and get a quote. because you want a custom job, the price may vary. but i dont think it will cost more than the arb bar, but will look way better than the arb.

i can mount a winch on my front bar, but i will need to reinforce the front mounts properly 1st. (on the to do list)

Thanks SiKiD

Just spoke to Sam, $1000 with the winch mounted to where I want. I'm thinking as low as possible between the frame rails but not compromise the approach too much. Also don't want to have to chop pieces out of the radiator or grill to get the winch back. Hhhhhhmmm. But it would look HEAPS better than the plate ARB job....... :D

if i wanted to keep my approach angle, and fit a winch, i would either need to take the grill off, or cut the centre section up.
