Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I have a 80's cruiser with a 90mm lift over stock (60mm ome shocks and coils and 30mm spring lift) so i wana put some big tyres on it , the 2 i'm lookin at are BFG m/t and Pro comp X-terain wich one should i choose just on there off road ability i dun care about on road mannners but they will be my only set of tyres.

and can i use 35i on my car without the tyres going thru the guard when the shocks botom out.

ok , so is it a 80 series , or a 80's model cruiser



so what lift have you fitted , is it a 60 mm spring lift ? and 30 mm body lift ?

I didnt understand the 60 mm OME and then another 30 mm spring ? WTF does than mean ?

Anyway , if it's a 80 series cruiser . you will get 35's under it with 60mm lift alone

If you want your tyre to go through the wheel arch on upwards travel , remove your shockers .

30mm spring spacer perhaps??

and longer shocks.. makes sense maybe...

yeh that sounded a lil confusing i admit its a 80 series cruiser 1991 model it had a 50mm spring lift but came up 60mm and a 30mm spring spacer put in to bring it up 90mm so allmost the same as a 4inch lift but not so ilegal

but i just wana know will 35's go thru my wheel arch or more so my flares wich sit a bit lower than the botom of my wheel arch cos a 12i tyre will sit about inline with the outside of the flare.

No problems with the 35's , will even fit 36's

I run bfg 35' muds on my 80 and i thas never rubbed

35's will fit easy...

can put 35's on a std cruiser.... looks stoopid tho

aren't you the cranky cruiser on 4wdmonthly saying you need 8 inches of lift for 35's?

If you have the same off set as std GXL rims, you can fit 36 Q78's with just 2" coils. - I did it at Stump Hill Ateco - who can remember my wife's 80 series at stump hill? - Oh boy..

If you have wide off set you will hit the wheel arch on the back. All big tyres will rub the inside of the wheel bay in the back. Make sure you have no sharp nasties or gas lines exposed. It's only light rubbing and if everything is smooth let it rub.

As for tyres - go the XT's if they are your only set. Better road manners and wear than BFG. Also XT has stronger walls and is better on rocks and loose stony surfaces. BFG may be better on clay.

thanx guys and yeh i got the standard 15x8 gxl crome wheels there prety strong so i see no need to replace them.

and thats what u mean isn't it 8i's wont rub but 9 or 10 will
