V8 in a suzuki

anyone here ever put a V8 in sierra? how much work is it and how mutch cutting and stuff like that do you have to do how do you make the gear stick come up in line with where you sit do you have to trim the front grill?

I thought about doing a Lexus badged toyota V* (4.0L) and backing it up with the std auto, however the grill chop always is a turn off, seen a Volvo V6 in a zook a while back, didnt like the grill. Its always a turn off to see a really great modded rig, and see that the owner then abortionises the front to get things to fit. My moto is, if it dont look standard then dont do it! (bodywise)

I think the majority of V8's (Bar a small block all alloy chev) are just gunna be too heavy.

i can think of another motor, but some people will never open there eyes far enough to read past a chev, or a ford or a holden v8. there are better motors!

yeah you could go a Lexus V8 , as someone did in NZ with a swb Vitara mud runner. I still think it will be overkill in a zuk especially with the gearing options available to run bigger tyres etc. Go with a smaller engine and get ower gearing, less breakage

why would you want a high tech alloy v8 when you can just use an asthmatic four pot with less displacement than my bottle of coke? you can never have too much power.

I don't want a v8, nor a v6

I'm happy with my tickled 1.3
will be nicer when I get a tramp bar installed. getting sick of hearing the unis bind up from tramping off the lights.
nothing like good rice racing.

Crappy old P76 - Think about it - all alloy 4.4 motor and less weight than most iron block riceburners that people put into them at great expense.
Light, easy and 8 cylinders.......

I doubt if you would be able to get hold of one as i'm not sure if it was ever properly released, but Suzuki did make a 1.3L V8 (yes, a V8 with alll of 1300CCs) engine that was going to be used in the C2 (Cappuccino 2) cars - i think it only existed as a concept vehicle...
IMO that would be the ultimate novelty engine to run...

i beleive it was, honda also had one but i think in 2 litre form, with oval cylinders... it might be a novelty engine, but yo9u want something, cheap, reliable, and easy to get parts for, you want something, light and at the same time, easy to modify
exotic engines are cool but they are a lot of work.

Mm, a 1.3 V8 would be very interesting. It would have absolutely no lowend torque, and very little torque at high rpms. It would probably rev to 10000-12000 rpm because each cyl has 162cc, that's even less than the average atv. It doesnt seem like the kind of engine you'd like to offroad with. That would fit pefectly in a racebike.
Are you sure it was a 1.3 V8? That's freakinly high-revving. Even a 2.0 V8 is a very improbable desing.
What's up with the japanese? When are they gonna stop building smaller and smaller engines?!?!

the japanese and italions are geniuses when it comes to building small displacement V8's and V10's just look at the F1 history
small displacement means little reciprocal mass hence high revs and lots of ponies.
if you want good torque you need a long stroke and a bit of weight to keep it spinning thats why diesels are so good! just not exciting
Beside the faster things spin the faster they break.so my diesel hilux should last forever as speed power and revs are not words that can be associated with it bwaaahahaha
But i reckon a 2.4 or 2.8 hilux diesel in a spook would be a giant killer. I once saw a japanese import sierra with a diesel turbo donk but i was poor and it slipped away. it went better than a petrol one and even had the blow off valve for the ricer boy image. The story of my life.

I think that a V8 zook would rock. Possibly a bit big, but there is nothing worse than spend 2,3,4,5,6 grand on a 1.3 or 1.6 and then relise that you should have bought a 2.5 GV v6 for 3 grand in the first place. Trust me that feeling sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When it comes to power v's gearing it depends what you want to get out of your zook. A v6 or v8 would be great for winch challenge stuff, but a 1lt with a series 3 is great in the rocks.
BTW if you are going to put a v8 in a zook who really cares what the grill looks like!

Rover/leyland alloy V8s - 3.5, 3.9 , 4.0, 4.4 and 4.5. Weight for power is good.
They can actually be made reliable but it needs the right person to set em up......
From memory (I was looking at replacing my 240Z engine before I bumped it to 11:1, ported heads and stage 3 cam) a stock 3.5 carby makes about 170hp and weighs like 80kg (200lb) so power to weight is pretty good. EFI and larger capacity versions make a lot more for not much extra weight.
However plenty of turbo 4 cylinders can make that power - but how much power do they make at idle speed?

that 1.6 v8 looks cool. Must rev like the devil and the sound must be very similar to a F1. 250hp sounds good. What about torque? 0 Lbft!?
one thing that bothers me is the spool up of the turbos on that little thing. 1.6 litres dont have enough pressure to spin 2 turbos!!

Add to that the V8 configuration and have in mind that each cyl has 200cc. But, if they say it works, i'm ok with it.
When are they gonna stop making smaller and smaller engines?!?

My 660 spins it's turbo fine - comes on to boost between 2,500 and 3,000 rpms... I would expect that a 1600cc engine would do fine?

the website says it's twin turbocharged. Spinning 2 turbos (if they're not sequential) must be a hell of a job for a 1.6. Well, that depends on the size of the turbos. I would understand 1 turbo, but 2?
