hey this might sound like a stupid question but I have some stock rims and tyres on my feroza, they are nankang tyres and was wondering if you can go to a tyre place and trade them in and get some new tyres with cash adjustment. I have done my suspension lift and now I want some new mud tyres

Why not run that set for daily use and the muds for playing?

That way the muds will not be worn down to quickly. Because they got pretty crap once they are about half worn.

You will get SFA for the tyres you intend to trade in.

I agree. You should be able to pick up a set of 15x7 rims for next to nothing. Suzi, Ford F100, and a whole heap more fit. Then run your present tyres for mainly bitumen work, and the muddies for mainly off road work. If you get a floor jack, it makes the job of changing them pretty easy and quick. This is what I do. I even trailer my Simex's to an event if it is a few hundred km's to where the action is.

BFG Muddies or Goodyear MTR... or the monoform mongrels that look like simexs?????

I just put a set of BFG Muddies on last weekend 30' x 9.5. Went for drive out to Ormeau and they worked excellent. The only thing is if you get really stuck they dig good holes.

I run a set of Simex Centipede M/T's in 31's on my spare rims. They cost me about $180 each fitted. Better than BFG price wise.

I've some questions...

31" will fit well in a Rocky (Fourtrack/Rugger) without any lift?
Will they work good with the gear ratio?

I was thinking of getting pedes as they look real aggressive, and seem reasonably priced. Couple of Q's. Do they wear down on the bitumen quick? Did you need lift to fit em, i got a 84 Rocky and from pic urs looks sam/close... They good in mud?? And anyone know what the max legal tyre size is for rocky's?

I tend not to leave them on for too much bitumen work. I think wear rate could be a bit excessive if used all the time.
As for lift, mine has both suspension and body lift. The body lift can be seen in the pic. Even so, they still touch occasionally on full lock and at certain spots on the suspension cycle. I am pretty happy with them. Its a bit hard for me to comment on their ability on any particular surface, as in my case, off road ability is probably more to do with the diff locks, than anything else.
I do find 31's a bit tall for the gear ratios. I think the motor works too hard on the highway, and fuel economy suffers accordingly. Given that the standard size tyre is a 215 15, the step up to 31's is a pretty big step.
