Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hiyall,anybody know what size the original speakers are in a GU,looking to replace with more powerful units,are they round or oval etc and size,4',5',6'.trying to find out before I start pulling door trims off.Thanks

in my 2000 model the front doors had little oval shaped speakers. id say they were close to a 3" x 5" .............i threw them out. ive got 6" sony explodes in there now, but i reckon you could fit a set of 6x9's in there with a bit of work. i only have a ute, so i cant comment on the rear at all

i've got pioner 2 way 6-inches both in the front and back doors front came with it, looked at it would have fit straight in, the back passenger door did myself, hole is already cut out, however like me if you have a dx will need to cut hole in trims use jigsaw or stanley knife, easy.

also got 1000watt amp with 2 12 inch subs with future plans of another amp, 2 6x9s and 2 remote speakers that can be taken out of car for campsite, then a tv and xbox, Nissan should of made this standard.

nope, there not round, but the cut out suits round speakers.......or maybe they are round and the speaker was an odd shape, i cant remember.........


you'll definately get 6 X9's in there though, as long as ya not scared of using a jigsaw on it

Would avoid oval speaker. 6x9 are mainly used as cheap subs, that can be powered by head unit. Best bet is to use a set of splits. Mount the largest mid base units you can in the doors. Then mount the tweeters in what ever position sounds best. Personally I would avoid speakers like kenwood, pioneer etc. Would go for the likes of Boston acostics, Alpine and Rockford Fosgate. These companies tend to make a tuffer and superior sounding speakers.
