winch q

did a search and found this http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... hp?t=48959 which is what i want to know about but the thread doesnt really give much detail does anyone else have anymore in put my bar is a std nissan type found on most mqs the only other prob i might have is that ive moved the bar up to sit on top of the chassis rails to suit 2inch body lift the bar is bolted to the rails using plates by the way its all steel bar and plates cheers

Without knowing exact measurements/dimensions of your available space...

rule is to ensure winch is bolted to chasis (a winch bar is designed to extend the chasis to give the required support). Winch cradles are available commercially or you could construct one yourself (if you can weld, etc).

The bar can be cut and drilled to support the rollers but nothing else.

Here's one I prepared earlier just for you :lol:

allows for a 3" body lift on an MQ using the std nissan bullbar....

The new bottom bits .....

3mm plate was pressed up for the outer "wings" while I used 6mm plate for the centre section......

New verticle plates were then cut n fitted and the centre section was then added.....

Verticle plates are from 6mm also.

after the "basic bullbar" was done I simply rewelded the orginal tube wrok back on....... done !

this is it finished n fitted.....

problem is......

I now have & want to fit an 8000lb high mount in the front :bad-words:

so.....

the 9000lb will eventually go on the back bar .......... one day :roll:

thanks for the replys people its something to think about i might get a winch and start from there ill have a bloody 24v one as it a 24v truck
god i hate 24v :bad-words:

why do you hate 24v put a 12v winch and see the extra speed just dont run it to long :D
