Guys

A few questions:

Background 2002/02 GuIII 43319Kms
4.2 Turbo Diesel Non Intercooled.

1. Where is a good place to "re tune" my diesel in the melbourne metro area (just got 3" mandrel fitted, safari snorkel). Want to up the boost so I need pump adjustments etc.... What boost would you recommend?

2. What is the realistic power gain expected? Dyno's etc

Don't know where to start for a good diesel place...

I need info ASAP

What would be a realistic goal to achieve in power and torque? Say 14 PSI boost and recalibrated fuel pump with 3" exhaust??

Hi roverrat,

I see mk guy has put my name up.
14psi with no intercooler is a little high. Better to go 10-12psi. Power achieved will be approx 90 kw at the wheels, give or take a few.

If you want to gho higher in boost, then a pyrometer is a must to be fitted.

14psi will get around 100 rwkw. Ask morkz about his.

Hope this helps, give me a call.

Cheers

Andy

I would take it JPC in Thomastown, had mine tuned there and the improvement in low down torque is great, he not only does fuel adjustments the anaroid is adjusted for better responce down low. His pricing was cheaper than that quoted by others to. Looking at doing a few turbo mods / replacement and he estimate between 115-120 kw at the rear wheels.

Mark does a lot of the comp trucks and certainly knows his stuff.

Cheers

If you want boost higher than 13 PSI then you will have to remove the Safety Valve above the intake manifold and blank it off. Otherwise you will be bleeding your compressed air off which will defeat the whole purpose of getting more power/torque. Bunnings sell 1" bungs (Gal or brass) for a couple of bucks.
