80 series economy

Post by grub_80 »

G'day all,

Just wandering what economy other people are getting on their 80 series 4.5l petrol motor.
I get approx 370 km to 75l around town which I thought seems excessive. This is slightly out (maybe 10%) due to 35" tyres and no speedo correction. I had extractors and exhaust fitted yesterday so I hopefully will see an improvement.

Thanks
Dave

Gday
My auto used to get 20l/100 which is thesame as your figures. (as low as 18/100 on the highway with std tyres)
With 35's on, add 6 % to the kms travelled to get your true economy.

I've got a 1hz and I can get it down to about 11.5L/100. One other guy I know just brought a 100 series petrol, we all told him they were thirsty, but it shocked him just how thirsty it really is

Around town I get about 21.5l / 100km in my auto 4.5. On a recent long trip I got 16.9l / 100km (Sydney to Melbourne without a fuel stop). I run standard size AT tyres.
