Vitara carby stud spacings and TBI stud spacings

Hi all,
I've done a search on TBI, and, whilst the manifold idea has been spoken about, I couldn't find anything solid on just swapping the actual TBI body over to where the carby used to be on an 8V Vitara, without using the manifold itself.
Does anyone know if the spacings of the bolts on the base of the carby of an 8V Vitara are the same as those on the TBI setup on the 16V Swift engine...or will an adapter still have to be made up?
I was considering swapping the whole engine over (if I could be bothered), but would be just as happy if I could just swap the TBI itself over and drill a hole in my exhaust manifold for the O2 sensor.
Any advice is appreciated.
Regards,
Adam
