Has anyone coverted a vacuum setup back to the manual L selector? Does the front casing and selector shaft need to be replaced?

has a little info.
selector shaft does need replacing, as well as some other bits

considering the parts you'll need, i rekon it would be easier to find a complete transfer with the manual shifting and swap that in.

Yep I did a little research on this too when I saw this post. Personely,I have a vacuum and quite like it.
Ok, if your going to do it your better off flogging the box you have now and get one that has had the shifter insince new. Your probably going to fins this the most economical method.

yeah, too much hard work, it will be easier to rig up a vacuum solenoid or get another transfer. Thanks for the advice.

Mick, you probably have a manual shift transfer lying about in the garage :) but other than replacing the 4WD shift fork shaft and drilling the case for a shift detent, I can't see it being much more work compared to replacing the entire transfer.
