Bigger Uni's

Do all rover rear tail shafts run the same size uni or are there some with larger ones?
They Run 1310 Uni Joints in both styles but there are 2 different style shafts and flanges. The early ones will give more angle but are still only as strong as the later Disco style ones.Maggot4x4 wrote:Do all rover rear tail shafts run the same size uni or are there some with larger ones?
Yeah, had the front uni of the rear shaft let go at 100kph on the way back from Vic on thursday. Had to drive back to Gosford in Front Wheel Drive.RUFF wrote:They Run 1310 Uni Joints in both styles but there are 2 different style shafts and flanges. I tried to see if any of the Rover Guys on Pirate had heard of any 1350 style flanges but all i got was replies from people from this site anyway.
Are you breaking them?
I don't know if it is a direct result, but I think it might be a contributing factor on a long high speed drive. No other damage done execpt for my clothes.andrew e wrote:could this have something to do with the offset of your rear nissan diff?
any other damage form doing 100kph, i have heard of cars flipping over when the tailshaft breaks at these speeds.
