el-cheapo snorkel

Hey people, just woundering if anyone knew where i could get that flexible pipe stuff that ive seen used for a cheap method of a snorkel. im just gonna chuck a pod filter on the end, can i get it from a hard-ware or would i need some special type??

Try a really well sorted exhaust shop that deals with large trucks. Thats where I got the tube I used for the intake piping on mine.

Make sure you get the pipe that is reinforced with a copper wire in it.

Places like Supercheap are starting to sell that sort of stuff. Don't know how good it is though?

thinking about snorkels, are therre any makes of fourbys where you could buy a snorkel from and modify it to fit the feroza, like a patrol snorkel or hilux snorkel, just has me thinking thats all

Land Rover Discovery, 4.2D Patrols and 3.0 D Hiluxes are all on the LHS like a Feroza needs. ;)

MK Patrols as well IIRC?

I was sussing them all out at one stage with the same idea. I think Airtec or Safari have pics of snorkels that suit different models on their website, so you can browse through each model and see what's similar.

Some of that convoluted pipe with the circumferential wire can restrict airflow somewhat due to air friction - the inner surface is far from smooth and will create induction resistance.

I take it off when I do quarter mile runs on Friday nights. :lol:


From my research trying to fit another 4WD's snorkel will not give great results. I got mine made for about $300 and it looks just like a bought one.
