Just wandering if anyone out there has an 80 series with crap power windows, mine are very slow and juddery and dont always make it to the top. Occasionly the glass support pulls itself off the glass and the window drops down. This is a constant annoyance and was curiuous to know what others have done to fix this.
I have removed cleaned window rubbers and lubbed with silicon spray all to no effect.
Any help would be appreciated.

I think that that is just standard for 80 series with power windows. Mine are the same. Rear drivers side has been propped up as it keeps falling down and the other are very slow and sometimes take a couple of goes to make it to the top.
I'll be interested to see if anyone has a solution.

U need to remove the window and gripper bar - wash the window with soapy water and dry... Use a set of pliers to re size the gripper bar and use rubber mallet to re attach in place.
You will find that becasue you use silicone spray as a lubricant - the slides are full of sh!te... You MUST use graphite grease down the slides each side. So clean them oput with that soapy water you have handy as well - dry and load with graphite...
I have manual windows and suffered heaps of issues - this was how i resolved them. i also locked the back windows up fully so noone can use them (i took the seat out to to be a smarty!)
Just chuck the graphite down the side with window open about 1cm and wind down and up a few times adding graphite as you go!
This shouild make life much easier on your winders!!!
