Sounds really dumb but I made an air box out of an old filter base and a couple of cake tins bolted together with a filter in.
The flexible pipes I got from Repco with a couple of filter pod brckets for a commodore !!
It worked really well, had a snorkel each side to get plenty of air in.
Say had cause the snorkels got smashed when it rolled and I have not rebuilt them yet.

Maybe a barrel / cyclone (whatever you call 'em) style airbox from a diesel hilux or cruiser, and work off that. That way, filters are readily available, and cheap. Should have plenty of capacity for a 327.
Sketch, note down the various diameters of things (gas mixer, airbox inlet etc....), and suss out what you need.
A good exhaust shop can make adapter pieces using tube expanders and reducers. Then get some wire reinforced flexy hose from Clark Rubber (bloody tough stuff, I use it), then some silicone hose and clamps and she'll come together...
Good Luck
