At the weekend i got a bit carried away in a dryish bog trying to show up a Supra powered solid axle Hilux Surf.

In the process i shredded the boot/dust cover that goes over the sliding joint on the rear drive shaft.

I talked to the local Nissan dealer, and they were trying to feed me all sorts of BS about it not being on their parts diagrams and there for you have to buy a complete drive shaft bla bla bla.

Can anyone tell me if they have managed to get one seperatly, or do ya just not worry about them generally as they are at risk of becoming a shit trap and grinding away the sliding joint.

Part No. perhaps??

Cheers,
Pete.

never heard of one of them before. but if your worried about it i would go to your local motorbike shop and just buy a shock boot and modify it so suit. beats payin what nissan would charge for it.

Yeah, that or a universal Steering rack boot or something.

They don't want to sell one seperatly from the DS, so i would have to buy the Whole shaft.

So the oz spec ones have nothing on the sliding joint at all??

Maybe i should just pull the remains of the boot off and forget about it!!
