Hi all,
only new here,
This site is unreal!,
Just wondering if you can help a JNR mud bassher out.

I just bought a 1989 hilux dual 3L.

the heater hoses have been removed from the heater unit in the fire wall,
and sent back on its self.
just wondering why someone would do this?

Also have have got a Rocker noise , just wondering what to reset the Rockers to?

Also looking for a snorkel to fit

cheers

Question 1)
Dunno, surprised it got a RWC, without a working heater (no demister)....
Sounds like a leaky heater core, so hoses were disconnected.

Question 2)
Engine is 3L, as in 3 litre, or 3L designation (2.8 litre)?
Either way it may use adjustable rockers (I wouldn't think so, but figers crossed) or bucket/ shim tappets. These aren't a backyard DIY job, unless you're a mechanic whose familiar with them. Paying $$$$$ to adjust, maybe just turn the stereo up, or use a thicker oil like a 15W-50.

Just go to Supercheap Auto, and look in (or buy) one of those Gregory's manual, and get the iall the info you'll ever need...

Question 3)
If you have $500, a new Safari, Air-Tec etc snorkel... your choice.
Or ring around to local wreckers, they get em off damaged auction vehicles from time to time. Got mine (Safari) with all the bits for $250.
Or fab one from steel, or good old PVC pipe. Rugged looking, but works, and costs peanuts.....

Hope this helps, welcome to the site, and good luck with ya rig,

Pat.

you`ve got to be joking?
take your truck to a mechanic and see what he charges to do somthing you could do yourself if you read the manual. chances are he`s using the same manual?
