Where abouts are the wheels going to be catching on the gaurds? so i can do the chop prior to the tyres going on.

Do I need to chop 50mm out of the gaurd all the way around or can they just be trimmed down by the sill, because the tyres are only 10.5'' wide i wouldn't have thought that they would catch on the top of the wheel arches. any ideas or thoughts appreciated.

It all depends on what wheels you're using.
With standard 16x7 alloys I had 35x10.5's fitting inside the guards, and only chopped off a minimal amount.
Then I got another set of wheels with 4" backspacing and I had to chop out all the outer guard up to the inner wheel well line.

BTW, the difference in handling and stability was amazing with the offset wheels.

An easy option is to get a Rangie Spares flare kit. Looks good too.

Thanks did you just have to trim out the bottom of the gaurds just by the sills?

Nope, I had to trim about 2.5-3" around the whole wheel arch, front & rear.
Including cutting the rear door skin and inner frame.
Then you have to seal the gap between the outer skin & the inner door frame.
As I said, Rangie Spares flare kits do this job very well, and look much more professional.
