Am trying to install some new uni's on the front end, but it seems that the new ones are F#*king tight fit. Have tried pressing them in with no luck and am afraid that if I keep going then I'm gonna bust something. Meassuring the bearing caps it seems that there about .4mm bigger than the hole they fit into. Now what the *#ck am I doing wrong? The only thing I can think to do now is to reem them out abit but this just doesn't seem right. Also what tricks are there to assembling the cardan joint.
tia,
John.

heat the uni carrier up and throw the unis in the freezer for 10mins
then run like a mofo and slap them in real quick

Thanks guys,
got another set of unis frm a local bearing supplier and they are the same size 29mm, am gonna ream the housings to fit as one of the reasons for pulling them in the first place was movement between the cups and the housing.

how do you intend off fitting them do you have hand press

and you might need to ask bazooked to give you the correct order.I have been out of the game for 10years now so i dont want to give the wrong info by forgeting something.Good luck

Did it today, took a little while to ream and the rest went together easily. Especially with the press and the spicer uni's that have a tapered cap that makes lining it up soooo easy.
