I need to remove the speedo before I take it to get calibrated. Has anyone done this before and if so any hints and tips on how to get it out.

I'm not sure if you're talking about the cable or the instrument cluster but here is a link to the section you need of the manual on my web site:

Body_Electrical Manual

The removal instructions start on page 10 of that 2.3 MB .pdf download.

Good Luck

THanks

there is about 8 screws holding plastic panels and steel reinforments in, then just unclip the switches on either side.. pretty easy actually.

how much is the calibration costing?

Calibration is $67 from Ringwood Speedo's. I got their name from another post in amongst the FAQ's for tyre related threads.

If I wanted the odometer doing as well it would have cost $173.

I figured that I could live with out an accurate odometer but when I measured the speed on my GPS found that at 100KPH on the speedo I was at 110 - 112 in real life.

Not sure about a place in Sydney.

As far as calibrating it goes they do a roll test over a kilometre and they count the cable turns and then set it from there.
