Howdy,

Im looking at getting a Hilux in the next week or so and have been looking mainly at SR5 hilux's between the 1992 and 1997 years... Until now I have seen these as the best 4x4 I want but one guy I rang said that his was an IFS and said that all SR5's have IFS... Is this true?

When did IFS come into SR5 hiluxs? What about standard hilux's?

What are the main differences between and SR5 and a standard?

Also, I have seen some which have had aftermarket turbo's fitted to the 2.8D engine (one of which has receipts of $6k for the work). Are these aftermarket turbo's good quality? Is it worth an extra grand or two to get an hilux with a turbo already fitted? What are the main advantages? Im looking at going round australia next year and doing a bit of 4x4ing on weekends... probably need to tow a bit of stuff...

thanks for your help guys.

cheers

hey there

if you are after a lux that has had a lot of work done to it but still a comfortable daily driver, i'd PM bogan about his truck. it's 2.8 turbo (i think), lifted and is a sweet looking truck. he's not asking much either.
