How much grease did you use?? Often when you over-grease the Warn M8000's they are incredibly difficult to pull rope out under free-spool....it just creates too much internal resistance.
Strip it down and reassemble using the instructions and diagrams available on the Warn website.....use only "just enough" grease to cover the parts and service it more regularly.
Cheers

take it apart and try and line up the free spool key and the cogs better.. just takes a bit of patients but isn't that tricky.
i just put a mark on the housing.etc with a pen so it all lined up properly when putting it back together.

Yeah well I thought I did, I had it all out and found I had the ring gear in upside down so fixed that
But I think its one of the spider gears i.e. the gears inside the ring gear
But unsure im not bad with this stuff as I used to do mechanics for a living on tractors and trucks bulldozers etc but it seems this is too hard for me lol. I don’t understand something’s in wrong that’s for sure but I can’t for the life of me figger it out.
O and the grease is only in lite i didnt pack it . i have a rather large understanding of hydraulic pressure
It’s too small if it was 40tonn and yellow I could fix it lmao

well i worked it out after tea tonight must of been tired or something before. the cluster gear at the bottom was not seated right and the top cluster gear was getting stuck on the outer gearing lugs. was an easy one but being tired and working on things ant a good idea.
thought it was strange i couldnt work it out so thanks anyway guys for your replys maybe next time i will look before getting pissed off with it
