Suzuki Shuffle

Well the new name for my Sierra is Shuffle.
Why? Because "Random is the New Order" and my zooks pretty damn random at the moment.
Basically a shitload of gremlins have been at the engine.
It now has some issues. Both electrical and carby.
Well story is this.
Autochoke doesn't work. Unless you have on either the headlights/parkers or the heater.
When you do turn on the headlights or heater though the revs go up by around 1000. Sometimes the car will be almost stalling until you put them on.
Wipers only work on the slow continioius speed, otherwise they slowly and jerkily move until they stop midway through their usual movement. In the fuse box wipers produce a spark when off.
My spotlights blew their fuse for no apparent reason.
Sometimes for no reason the idle will jump up to 3000. Basically your right foot is no longer needed. You can change gears without the accelerator and the car can move itself along without your right foot as well.
Occasionly at the lights the idle will pulse as I like to call it, a mate said its called hunting. Anyway every few seconds the revs will increase slightly and then drop back down.
Theres a very noticeable flat spot somewhere between 1000-2000 revs. So bad the car will lurch. Theres also some slight hesitation when you plant your foot outside the flat spot.
Sometimes when starting it doesn't get enough fuel. I sometimes have to spend 5 mins trying to start it.
At the moment the damn thing is on the side of the road as it actually did that when driving and then no fuel was getting in so it wouldn't start. Luckily some mates showed up and helped get it off the road and give me a lift.
Anyway, yes I did plan on sorting this out. It is.. I mean was.... driveable just an... interesting... experience.
Anyway, my dad a sparky said the electrical faults probably a short of some sort.
So basically I would rather get this seen by a proper mechanic and auto electrician as its way over my knowledge or anyone I know.
So basically I was thinking of just replacing the entire carby with either a properly rebuilt stock one, a weber or a holly and having the electrical looked at.
Does this sound like the best way to go ?
and if so which carby is 'better' ?
