a mate gave me some old spotties, and suggested that i could make them into reversing lights by sandblasting the lenses to diffuse the light coming from them. Anybody got any ideas about this?

thing is, they are 2 oldish rectangular cibie oscars, which aparently are known for the their real spot quality, with bugger all spread. I'm not looking to buy any spotties, just use what i have.

Spot or not they will light up the back area of your truck fine. Its not a laser beam.

although  ........ A laser "beam" would be a nice mod to any truck. Being able to cut your own track would be very handy sometimes.

sandblasting glass is no problem. Most of the glass with logos that are clear and surounded with white is normally sandblasted.

why not swap someone for something more suitable? they are good spot lights, so why root em?
