Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Ive been thinking about throwing LPG in the 2.4 petrol hilux.. 22R

i havent seen this done alot, but i havent really looked much either

many people here got it or have done it?

will it give any better km/100 concidering its only a small engine?

anyone got pics of a set up?

and last of all.. anyone got an LPG componets that wana flog off?

i have one on lpg. its a heap cheaper to run. 70 litres(I think) of gas is good for around 350 kays. no dramas at all. power loss isnt a problem at all. I have got a injection intake manifold to put on it which should make it even better. Go for it. Dont let any1 talk you out of it

also where is ur tank and converter mounted?

you running dual fuel?

My tank is mounted where the spare wheel would normally go underneath. Its actually in a 4runner. some people buy large tanks and just bolt them at the front of the tray, easy way to get a couple hundred litres in . My converter is mounted passenger side on the inside guard panel at the rear of the engine bay. . My mixer is a donut style that is cut in to the airintake piping just after the air cleaner. The system was installed in 92 and its a 90 model so its been in there for a while with no dramas at all. I have ionly had it for 2 years but only good words can be said.
ATM its a dual fuel setup but hoping for strtaight lpg soon for extra power. There are always plenty of people to say its no good. I have an old school 350 chev on straight gas and peopple say its no good. To me i wouldnt have it any other way. With gas at -6 degrees it will start the same and will have a perfect idle. Neither cars gas freezes either. Its just a matter of having it setup right in the first place.

i rang up a few wreakers 2day after the converter and mixer, didnt have much luck will have to try again tomoro
a mates got an 80L tank he is selling so i will make sure that is in date and pick that one up.

i rang an lpg installer to see what i was allowed to do, so it can get a compliance plate and they said i could do it all they just check it and stick the plate on.. which is good.. i thought i would be able to fit everything but not connect any connection for a plate.

also what brand converter is it?? it seems like the common one is the imco 300 (something like that?)

i would really prefer straight gas as i have been on a fan of it.. but i wana keep the petrol cus the further u head out the harder gas pumps are to find.

I have the same truck engine extra only its a 97mod. thinking of doing the same set up so once your done converting to gas let us know what its worth and what you wreckon
