Adjustable suspension on genII Paj SWB?

Was the adj susp an option on early genII shorties, or was this reserved for the "Exceeds"?
If it was an option, does anyone know the details? Does it actually raise and lower, or is it simply adjustable valving on the shocks, similar to the Rancho 9Ks?

The Paj adj suspension is an air pump which pumps up bags above the rear coils. It also rotates the torsion bars by pulling the adj to raise the front.
Unfortunately it uses up shock travel and bump stop clearance so there isn't a huge gain for off road.

The adjustable shock (standard) is 3 stage adjustable shock (electric) but not a hurge difference between settings.
One described J Top is option for height control.
Some of the Gen II has both.

I thought there were Gen II's that came out in other contries with a hydraulic ram that jacked the car up 3 inches
Phil, Were you talking about these?

That's what I'm talking about...
But I wonder if it came on any swbs, and I also wonder what year it came out?
As I've alluded to already, I'm importing a 91 from Japan into Canada in early 2006 (it has to be 15 years old in order to comply with regs, otherwise I'd get a 2.8). Wouldn't it be sweet to get the factory adj susp, the factory air locker, etc? I just can't seem to find any info on which models these groovy options were available. And I'm gonna be buying sight unseen based off an auction sheet...
Almost seems as though it was random as to which vehicle got these fancy schmancy parts. The UK guys tell me most of their Shoguns got the locking rear diff, but that really does me no good, since I'll be getting a jap-spec'ed Paj.... Argggghhhhhhh

I hear ya Jtopper, I'm more interested in the back than the front, but at the same time, if the t-bars are gonna be cranked anyway, wouldn't it be nice to get back to the tarmac and lower em back down?
Besides, bumpstops are over-rated anyways...

hi,
Mine is 98 3.5V6 LWB GDI exceed jap import (blue sticker on rear door)
Adjustable ride height - No
Rear Factory locker - No
Rear LSD - No
Cruise control - No
Electric seats - No
Adjustable Shocks - Yes
Wood dash / door trim - Yes
Larger wheels and tyres (R16) - yes
Leather interior and trim - Yes
Factory steel bash plates - Yes
Sat/Nav - Yes (but only works in Japan)
Elec windows and mirrors - Yes
Factory Power sunroof - Yes
ABS and front Air bags - Yes
Rear climate control - Yes
A mate of mine over here also has an import LWB exceed, his has the factory LSD (red sticker) but no adjustable ride height.
From my reasearch over the last few weeks it seems that the factory locker and adjustable height were optional on the LWB exceed, SWB not too popular over here.
I'd ask for photos if possible, the dashboard, and esp. the centre console looking towards the rear (nr handbrake).
I believe that the ride height feature is hydraulic, not air. Read some where that there is no seals kit / fix available, failure requires that the entire servo assembly needs to be replaced. Also it should automatically lower truck down at hi speed.
I know, I didnt answer your questions - just some food for thought. Hope this helps.
cheers.

Phil I have seen a few SWBs with adj suspension, but not with adj and diff lock both.

That is the height control and up rear about 40mm and front for 30mm.
I've goyt on my '94.
And that is optional in Japan and not the standard equipment for Gen II.

muttis3LV6,
by saying it isn't striaght anymore, do you mean you have a few hydralic rams layen (Up button) around and possibly a factory rear locker spare.
(Thought it was worth a try, those things are hard to find)
If yes, i got first dibs,
Cheers

Yes dave and the magic faries at the end of the garden will bring them to you soon
I have found that big tires at full lock when climbing equals very custom guards, kinda the fat boy look
