gday, just wondering if anyones had the same problem,
my car pretty much wont idle properly, splutters and farts around
200rpm and sometimes just dies completely, uses a bit of fuel.

Its a 95 model with 165 thou and everything is in good order so im hoping its something rather simple.

cheers.

i have an 86 zook and when the carb gets a bit rough i give it a couple of good revs while putting my hand over the throat and that seems to clean the idle jet abit.it pulls fuel into the throat and cleans it.

With the std carb, the main thing to check when it idles rough and crap is the emulsion tube in the primary throat. This is where the most crap is found

take the idle control solenoid out, that is what the wires go to. take the two plugs out that go to the bowl. blast everything with nulon carby and throttle body cleaner. let it sit for a while(eg. 2-3 mins) blow it out with air compressor. especially the solenoid, careful not to lose the tiny O-RING and put it back together. works every time for me. also a good idea to run a second fuel filter just before the carby if you are not all ready

Hope it helps,
Joel

the jets wernt too bad and its still farting around so ill have a look at that solenoid your talking about cutzook because i noticed its not moving when it should be, and im not sure my chokes working either, is there some way i can chuck on a manual choke from an older model or something mines a 95.
