ive seen the use of these and from my point very affective but a few questions
1. why is it only used on the rear nto the front aswell
2. is it road legal to do either 1/4 or 3/4

for the fact that being in the front it would unload verry badly climbing up a hill
and also would be sloppy for steering pourposes

if you put it in the front you would probably have to do some sort of parhard rod setup etc to stop the diff from moving side to side as you steer.

i wouldnt think it would be possiible to do a 1/4 on the front because when braking wouldnt the front suspention be trying to unload?? and the 3/4 would have to be in kind of a "shackel reversal" setup or it would do the same. only thinking out loud dont actually know first hand about these setups.

ahk k, i was lookin through some of the 2002 tuff truck pictures and looked at that zook on 37`s with 1-4 epilctic rear and was wondering why he didnt do it on the front, i would love to go coils but over in wa cant get it engineered so SPOA is good enough for me, or ill just wait till i can afford a 96 zook.
also this was jsut me thinking out loud, wouldnt actualy do it

1/4 eleptic an 3/4 eleptic are way differnt setup
ive seen 1/4 eleptic front and rear
it will work nearly exact same as coils if setup right
Sam K used to run 3/4 eleptic up front on i think bazook i think it lasted a hole of a weekend

the rear is definately a worthwhile exercise and is engineerable [mine is]with the spoa it works great im very happy with it ,doesnt have any weird behaviour off road at all .some people thought it might unload badly on off camber climbs but it hasnt been the case

if you're planning on getting it engineered you better get into it fast... end of this month / early october theres a swerve test day planned for a bunch of us going down....
next one after that will be mid 2006.

As said above, why not just do a coil conversion?
I do not believe that there would be much more work in doing a coil conversion than a 1/4.
3/4 is fairly simple, you will however need a locking system to disable the buggyleaf for on road use. Some engineers will also require a label to be attached to the dash stating the same.

neva set up a 1/4 eleptic but id say there would be more work in 1/4 then coils
