GU Accelerator Sensitivity

Drove a mates '99 GU (2.8 TD) down the quarry yesterday and had a lot of trouble getting it to idle down hill in 1st low. It would not move off without a little bit of accelerator but the accelerator is that touchy that I was getting accelerator slap all the way to the bottom of the slope. Tried to drive it in 1st low on the flat, chopped up ground and got the same result. Can the accelerator be adjusted? Are they electronic throttle control? Has anybody else had the same problem?

Thanks

Its a design fault in the 2.8/3.0 GU's from what I've heard. Lots of people complain about this. I had a new 3.0 the other week for testing and found the twitchy accelerator to be a major problem. Made things harder than it should have been.

I'm not sure if there is a fix, I'm sure some of the Nissan guys will know.

people put foam rubber under the pedal on some GU's.. cheap and easy fix.

Rest your foot on the kick panel at the side of pedal and most of your probs will be solved. You do get used to it.
