2.8TD Gearbox noise

Hi Guys

Just came back from a trip up to Cape York. It was awesome. Drove all the good tracks eg. OTL, Frenchmans - went to Lakefield, Iron Range, Captain Billy and heaps of other places. Me and my girlfriend were the youngest people we saw travelling (we are 23 & 19).

Didnt have a single problem with my GQ 2.8TD Patrol it did everything perfect.

But for the last 6 months I have had this gearbox grinding sort of sound. Everything works fine just when you let the clutch out and start moving you hear this sort of a grind sound come from the gearbox/clutch. It also can be heard when i am driving very slow at low revs. As soon as the revs get up a bit, the sound is gone and every thing is perfect.

You can also hear the same sort of sound with the engine running and the car not moving , and gently trying to select a gear with the clutch not depressed.

What do you guys reckon it could be?
What should I do about it?

Cheers

Jason

Clutch / gearbox thrust race bearing. Dont stress mine has done it for 50,000km. Might want to put it on the to do list though! :D
