Toyota Recall

Hi all,
Toyota has just released a recall on 4runner's and hilux's. If you've got a hilux with the model code LN107, LN111, RN106, RN110 or a 4runner with a model code of LN130, RN130, YN130 or VZN130 then you're up.
Hilux year models affected are APRIL 25 1988 to JUNE 28 1996.
4runner year models affected are DEC 13 1988 to NOV 8 1995.
You can look on your compliance plate in your engine bay and you will find your model code.
Toyota have found that on vehicles fitted with power steering a crack can occur in the steering relay rod, this can happen when the steering wheel is turned under situations of high load such as the steering turned lock to lock while the vehicle is not in motion.
Apon inspection at a Toyota dealership if your vehicle is found to be affected the steering relay rod will be replaced and the wheel alignment of the vehicle will be checked.
We are offering a bit of a special deal at Mosman Toyota where we will do a oil flush for NO CHARGE should you bring your 4runner/hilux here for the recall [and it gets performed]. We can also arrange a courtesy car for the day free of charge if it makes your visit more convienient.
The number here is 9969 2555 and speak to me if you can. Otherwise if you haven't recieved a letter in the next week and you think your vehicle is affected give your local Toyota dealer a ring and they'll sort you out.
Cheers, Jeremy

Only the ones i listed, as far as in know they are all IFS, it is the rod that connects the pitman arm, idler arm, and tie rods together.

Courtesy cars are up to the individual dealer, we offer them at our own cost.
Have just spoken to Toyota Technical and was told that the surf's will be done, but not until they're happy that the local vehicles have been done first. He couldn't give me a date. I'll keep you posted if i hear anything.

Jeremy, thats good news, I've heard mixed reports on the Surf not being done because they don't fall under Toyota Australia as they are for an overseas market. Keep us posted.
cheers
Dan.

Uhh, no.
But its ok anyway coz i got x-over, just wanted to make sure it wasn't the lower "drag-link" that goes between the wheels.

so it's only for IFS lux's then,
i was hoping to get a new J arm,
the relay rod is the steering rod, which connects to the idler arm.
