Hey all,
I have a mq with 4.1 ford crossflow under the bonnet. It has been off the road for several months now due to problem with the clutch. what is happing is it starts fine out of gear, but put your foot on the clutch and try to select a gear and it will not go into any gear. Turn off and select gear put foot on clutch and turn over and she jumps forwards with a sound like ball bearings rattling insde the gear box. Start her in gear and take off she will go up the gears fine but as soon as you pull it out of fourth to come back down it will go not go back into any gear. I ahve replaced both the master and slave cylinders with new ones. When replacing master the metal pipe that runs to the slave snapped off and i replaced it with a little bit longer one could this be the prob or something else? I have run out of ideas . It would be great help if someone could give me some hints as i am getting rather pissed not having a 4wd.
Thanks in advance.
ps sorry about the long post.
