Hilux diff breakage under a sierra....
Hilux diff breakage under a sierra....
Hey there, im just interested in how many of u guys running hilux diffs under yer zooks, have broken a rear diff centre ? if so details on the situation it broke in, and also wot specs yer rig is, tyres, suspension, engine, gear reduction.
the reason i am interested is i plan on making a hybrid rear diff 4 my zook, it will b a hilux centre, with 80 series cruiser full floating axles and disks, the reason i plan on doing this is to keeo good ground clearance, and also have an offset rear diff centre to maintain good driveline angles for the zook tcase.
i think that the hilux rear centre will hold up under the zook quite well, its only going to run 37-38" tyres, 1.3 or maybe 1.6 later, either engine maybe turboed or supercharged, 6.4 tcase gears and 4.88 diff ratios, so from my point of veiw it should work....

i have a LWB, with a Bundeera rear diff,36s' & airlockers. Its only done 3 trips, but holding up well so far. The offset bundy pumpkin is ever so slightly off to the right, a couple of mm, nothing really, but almost inline with standard. Im told the bundies later on changed centre sizes, but the one in mine is the same as a hilux. The amount of vibration on the xfer stick is almost unnoticeable. This is the same at any speed. hope this helps.
