Hey guys jsut got a question abtou the centre bearings on Lux's...Has anyoen had any trouble with them not lasting very long? I have gone through 2 in 4500k's one was stuffed by a stick jamming into it and the other has had the bearing collapse back into the rubber which causes the rear driveshaft to go all over the place on take off and when backing off.
Oh its in a 1984 single cab lux with ifs rears and a welded rear.
any help woudl be appreciated because driveline services think its my driveshaft causing the problem but i am not sure whether that si the case or i just got a faulty one.

here is a way to make the bearing last a little longer...

easy solution.... get a one piece shaft made up...

or... my lifted v6 lux ( and my bro's as well) used to spit centre bearings regularly... but when you buy your new one get a tube of sikaflex and pump it full of the stuff... makes em last twice as long..

dude ur shaft is way out of balance, and ur welded rear wont help especially if ya have soft rear springs.

but the thing is that there is only a banging noise on take off and then after that i dont get any vibrations through the driveline which i think is weird if the shaft is that badly out of balance. Is there any lux's with a one piece shaft that woudl fit mine? i have moved the rear diff back 1.5-2 inches if that helps. if it is gonna cost me a lot to have the shaft balanced plus a new centre bearing i might jsut get one made up anyone got an idea on price? oh and i have a trac bar going in soon which will help to control the soft springs and welded rear
