I'm impressed with their UHF radios and I would consider their HF rig if I didn't allready have a Codan.
The antenna impedance has to be changed for each frequency that you want to transmit on. You would usually use an autotune antenna or a multi tap antenna.
The multi tap is cheaper, but you have to get out of the truck to change the tap when you change the transmit frequency. And you need to buy one to suit the frequencies that you want to use.
The multi tap antennas made by Frankston and Mornington Peninsula Amature Radio Club (
www.qsl.net.vk3frc) for approx $120 (depending on the number of taps) have a very good reputation and unbeatable value.
I'm guessing that you may want taps for the VKS 737 and Radphone frequencies.
For more convenience (and $$) you will want an autotune antenna. As far as I know, Icoms use an autotune from Moonraker Australia, so you might try contacting Moonraker.
