I'm looking at building a competition track north of Brisbane and was wanting some feedback on what type of course, would get the support from competitors and spectators and of course Sponsors $$$.

Types of courses:
1. Gymkhana
2. All terrain
3. Rock Crawling
4. Combo of Gymkhana and All terain

Most of you here like to do the hard stuff but the gymkhana circuit seems to have been lost over the last couple of years

All will be man made and use logs, dirt & rocks and as time and money permit make it bigger and harder

i would pick both 3 and 4.

this would give more oppotunity to your park and a bigger variety for your customers.

let us know if you need a hand ...

It's not a 4WD Park, just a track to run competitions on.
You offering some sponsorship for it!!

Once I find out what most want, I'll look in to it futher, such as what type of obstacles and how big, deep and how long etc

yes 2 and 3.

because then you can have the buggys/tubed rigs on the rockcrawling type of stuff, winch challenges etc on rocks and all terrain, and then the spectators can go and fool around in there soft weak arse foubies on the all terrain stuff!

I say if your lookin to make $ out of this, you mention that the easier type of events have died in recent yrs, but there are still the same about of 4bs out there that COULD have a go at this sort of event.

There are plenty of comps out there for hardcore dudes, but FA for the average family dudes 31 MT shod 80/GQ/playdo/paj/jackaroo/etc with no lockers.

how much have you looked in to this? You have land in mind? council approvals? insurance? neighbours approval? minimum of council requirements EG dunnys, runnin water...

We had these issues yrs back with bike racing when we started doing natural terrain racing...

Not doing it to make money if I do it will go to charities, the land is set up for a major event, power, water, council and EPA approved for event don't know about camping yet, no neighbours, just needs track upgrade, toilets & grand stands.

i'll second the gymkhana and all terrain, makes it available for driver training aswell then (organisations pay to use if commercial outfits such as duncans?)

Given the distance from Bris camping onsite is probably not a big issue, small camping area for officials or or overnight "security",sell it to the locals as spreading the dollars around during events. But a pit area would be a big bonus.

Try talking to the CAMS off road guys, may find some interest there for shortcourse or practice facility that could be blended in.
