Bicycle carrier

Hi All,
Can anyone give me any pointers towards bicycle carrying solutions? I have a Feroza II SX with just the recovery point. I dont want to put them on the roof (2 bikes). Would getting a towbar, and a carrier be the way to go? Or just some sort of carrier? Not planning on towing much otherwise.

Someone (Croz?) made up a bike carrier that bolted onto the spare wheel holder on the back door. It fitted over the top of the spare tyre.

if had two bikes on this one i made i mainly have it for surf ski for can have roof of same time hope the pics worked and helped

Thanks, looks interesting! How much weight can the backdoor, or spare wheel holder hold? I know the troopies can develop cracks from the spare on the rear door, is the same a concern for the ferozas?

mine has been on for approx 6 months now no prob i have also swung of mine and i weigh close 100kgs didnt even move

I picked up a second hand tow-bar for $50 and only use it for carrying bikes and recovery point. I only put the tow-ball in when I need to otherwise slip the bow shakle in for recovery. The only thing you have to watch is making it past your spare tyre. Singl bar carry rack is best and try to get a tow bar with a long extension.

Just on the rear door carrying weight, I used to let people ride on the spare wheel when offroad (sand/mud and other fun but not too dangerous stuff
) and it got a bigish crack in it just below the glass. Got it welded up and told the engineer how it happened and he said that the doors were hardly strong enough to take the spare wheel let-alone 100 od kg of person aswell. Bike's may not be that heavy but I wouldn't put too much on it anyway.

I just put a basic spare tire rack on the back of mine, haven't had a problem yet. I also have the roof rack system as well.
