New GQ Possibilities

Post by TJ 04 »

I am looking at buying a GQ at the moment. I have big plans for this 4wd see below.

- 350 Chev
- Custom ute conversion
- 39.5" Swampers
- Diff ratios
- Front and rear lockers
- 6" custom long arm suspension kit
- Body lift 2"
- Custom tray and front bar
- Front and rear winches
- 6 point roll cage
- and more......

With help from my mates I am doing all this work.

If anyone has any good ideas or some valuable input it would be greatly appreciated.

And yes as my profile name suggests I was stupid enough to buy a TJ Wrangler

There is NOW nothing really wrong with my jeep it is awesome off road. I have plenty of video of the jeep pulling out a mates GQ.

But i want to go bigger and the jeep can't offer me what i want. I was hoping to get some advice from anyone who has done any of the above work.

If i had a massive wallet i wouldn't be doing the work myself.

looks good on paper are you planning on doing rock crawling for this only?

i doubt the setup would be good for any winch events mainly due to the lift and size of the tyres...

if your going custom 6" suspension have you considered going coil overs... and pherhaps a 5 link setup.

ute conversion should be good are you planning on buying a wagon and doing the chop will it be a dual cab extra cab or just cab chassis.

are u going to go nuts with motor or keep it stockish chev350 have u considered going to a GenIII

Big plans....don't we all! Good luck to ya buddy, welcome to the Nissan club anyways. I don't know how much you know so forgive me if stating the bleeding obvious, but do a lot of shopping around for your cage, theres a big difference between one that will do the job and one that is guaranteed to save your arse!
