hi, mud is a common killer for these. its no problems at all to remove the bearing while the compressor is still on the vehicle..saves regassing the a/c
remove the radiator and fan shroud to gain maximum work space in the area.
remove 10 mm bolt in front of pulley
gain access of pulley remover or other means..
only the front half of the pulley will be removed at this stage.
remove circlip from main shaft for removel of pulley its self.
once pulley is off, clean first, sit on a object so you can press or hammer out the bearing from the bottom of the pulley making sure you do not warp the pulley at any point. if you do this will cause many problems in the running procedure..
the bearing has no retainers at all. the back of the pulley housing is peaned over
once bearing is removed go to your nearest BJ bearing stockist or bearing supplier and get one of:
Part# DF0760LLBCS40MA for around $40 -/+
these are a double row bearing.. pre greased. when fitting make sure it clears to the full depth required then peen over with a punch or what have you..
reinstall radiator etc..
