				4" lift or 5" lift?

				just want peoples opions please because i cant make my mind up i want to fit 34x11.5 JT2's i have on my GQ LWB

				for 34s on a non body lift patrol... 4 inch will just pass.. 5 inch no problems..

				Don't forget Springs will settle over time ..  I got dobinson coils and shocks  and they sit at about 5.25 now in 6 months it will be fair to assume they will settle just below 5".

				hi, in regards to your lift it would all depend on what you are wanting out of your vehicle.3" and body lift nice touring bus and still get the wife and kids into it or go for the 8" and use up all your uneccassary travel from your shockers..
just remember before you go stupid with the lift that the higher you go the more "top heavy" it will get. this makes a huge difference when you are in the high speed racing. ROLOVR of course

				just finished put in a 4" lift into a gu  tray back and it fitted a set of 36x12.5x16 no woz with out a body lift  but it was a second hand kit  so the kit  may have been bigger

given this... for a touring bus... is a 3" suspension lift  + 2" body lift better than just a 5" suspension lift or are they equally appropriate.
on another note.... would a 3" suspension lift + 2" body lift be more or less stable than just a 5" suspension lift?

				I went A 4" coil lift and 2" body lift, I used tough dog shocks and
coils. The shocks are 9way ajustables so when offroad set them soft and on the black stuff set them hard .U should use a spacer in the front control arms to get the front wheel forward more and u will fit 35" tyres eazy.
I got 6" travel shocks I did the sums and the coils dont fall out just gives u more travel. If the coils settle a bit over time u can put some coil spaces in to lift it back up for not much expense.

				One thing to keep in mind is that lifting the car over 4" will usually require more extensive steering mods, castors mods, brake line mods etc, which all equal dollars.  This might be something to keep in mind if your budget is tight.
On the other hand just go for the 5" lift and 2" bodylift  
 
 
The other thing is too, that asking for a 4" or 5" can result in anything sometimes.  I asked for 4" and it still sits at more like 6" after 3 years......
