What other work did he do on the car?
$308.00 would be around 5 to 6 hours' work.
PS hose + Refill, bleed, etc. should be no more than about an hour
Top radiator hose and refill, 1/2 hour
Engine mount +/- $68 from Repco or around $130 from Mackay Industries - around 1/2 hour to replace
Gearbox mount, not sure of price, but <$100 from Repco IIRC and no more than 1 hour to replace.
3 hours' labour should set you back no more than +/- $180
One thing I ALWAYS do to save $ with mechanics when I have to take my vehicle to them is to make sure I know how to do the job before I take it to 'em.....it's usually only 'coz I haven't got right tools or enough time or simply can't be f#@ked doing the job myself (like pulling out gearboxes), and let 'em know that you know what you're doin'....you'll find your mech bills are significantly smaller that way, 'coz they know they can't bullchit you.
Edit: Woops, shoulda read it was a Rocky...it's late

, but times for different items should still be the same.

Mate I have replaced one of my power steering hoses & I can tell you depending which hose it was I can understand the labour cost. To replace a top hose & to bleed the system correctly 1 hr approx If not done right cracked head is a possiblity. Engine mounts depending of which side the Rh side you need to bend around the injector pump if it is the Lh engine mount you have got all the turbo oil hoses & oil cooler coolant hoses to get around I would say all spanner jobs as no room for air tools in those areas
