Need help with sub tank mounting points please.

My Mechanic has put this in and it is not hanging right.

When I slide my hand over the tank i can feel a step on the tank and I think its hitting the body. If it would be back 5-10mm it might sit up higher.
I hope!!

Does anyone have a pic of their sub tank on a SWB GQ?

I just want an idea of how it should be sitting. Mine at the moment is just asking for a rock to rip it off.

cheers
Eric

Geez that hangs low.

If that's standard I'll be getting a custom one if I go dual fuel cos that's appalingly low.

Let's hope he's just fitted it wrong.

I know, at best i think i might get the front closer to the same level as at the rear of the tank.

It should be level with the bottom of the chassis. There is an L bracket that uses the 2 holes in the chassis near the transfer case. One bolt goes on an angle at the rear near the bump stop area. And the other is a large piece of flat secton that mounts to the top of the crossmember.

Cheers

I think i got a strange tank. Its different to all the ones I saw at vic winch.

At best i might get it 1.5 - 2" below the chassis.

Maybe I found the 1st one ever built for a GQ SWB

I know, The Gas is all running now and we are off to NSW for a few weeks. When I get back I hope to get it swapped over or i will take it off and get it modified.

I think it was one of the 1st tanks ever made

Others i have seen are a lot neeter and only hang about 1-1.5 inch from the chassis.

I may as well hit it with a sledge hammer now and get it over and done with

I was wanting to go to Rover Park while in NSW but not sure if its worth it now with that tank hanging down like dogs balls.

why not go and remove it now, adn see if it can mount differently..
failing that piss it off and go with Jerry cans for now and do rover park.

I was thinking that but jerry cans wont help without the sub tank.

I now only have 100lt gas and the belly tank.
