when i was running my 5K (which is for sale) I used a custom jacksaft which was basically two unis welded back to back. it worked fine for about 6 years. just needed to be aligned properly initially. Probably not the most pretty solution but it worked fine for me.

when we installed the 1.8lt Gemi diesel into brothers sierra there was no room for a conventional jack shaft.
The solution was to use a CV and part of the axle from a VW beetle. The output shaft of the gearbox from the donor car was then cutoff and welded to the cut down drive shaft from the beetle. A spacer was made to hold the VW CV to input flange of the transfer case.
This setup worked a treat and allowed for movement and a little misalignment of the gearbox and transfer case. The whole shooting match fit into a 100mm of space.......
This may solve your issues......
