Hi guys,
I was about to fit new camshafts to my SWB Gen I Pajero but someone dropped the idea to swap my 2.6L engine with the V6 3.0L. Do you know something about this swap? I know the engine and the performance i can get (sounds a good option to me) but i don't know how much trouble is going to be... Thanks.

Hi constapa
Try searching for posts by your fellow countryman, xappas.
He swapped a 2.4i motor into his Paj, which was apparently a quite straight-forward swap. For the little extra power and torque you'd obtain from the V6, I don't know that the extra hassle is worthwhile.
Cheers,
Scott

I've done one on a NA as well all you need is a complete engine, gear box and cross member, wiring loom and computer or after market ( easier but dearier and more power), radiator, rear tail shaft, front diff if you don't want to brake it. The engine and gear box mounts line up perfectly. The only thing with running the pajero combo is it is stronger in the gear box section but it is also bigger so you will need at least a 25 mm body lift. It is an easy convervion and well well worth it.
