Then a custom one with all the labour involved is gonna cost you heaps more.

Maybe the other defender models may be larger and compatible? You could swap some around in other models.

What about subtanks? Have you looked into that option?

My father in law got a custom long range built for his Jackaroo. Holds over 180 litres and fully installed with blue plates cost him $1400.
I'll get the details of the guy who made them and pm it to you if you like.

that would be good, i have found one contact so far he is quoting the job as we speak, semi-retired engineer that used to build semi tanks. just chasing a 50l or so (prob all i'll fit) to back up the main little 45L, can't really fit other 2nd hand tanks as space is so limited where it has to fit.

What about a full replacement tank in a larger capacity. Putting in a sub tank may require fabrication of another filler point, another pump/sender.

Have a look at some of the name brand tanks. They use the OEM mountings, so it can't be that hard to replicate.

the guy who fitted the in-laws replaced the whole tank. He got over 100 litres more than the orignal.
Will send the details tomorrow when I speak to the father out law,

can't replace the original as it is under the driver seat, if it drops any lower it will hang me up on every rock, can go any longer either.

only have one place for 2nd tank, one person makes them 'long ranger tanks' in melb (takes 5 to 6 weeks build and delivery time), but he can't give me 2 many details on exact measurements from axle, etc

i think with the extra flex i have it will certainly knock these after market off the shelf numbers...i think go custom get it right the first time, run extra filler, pump, etc

c what the price comes in at first (with second if chucky can russle details) , take it from there

Find a second 90 tank and modify it for the passenger side.

You can either join up the filling points or have a seperate onefor the other tank.

Run a seperate fuel line and pump on a switch in case one dies.

This will probably be the same $$$ as custom anyway.

Pretty sure you cant use a 110 rear tank anyway due to length anyway.

Dave.
