i recently aqured a new set of diffs for my Diesel mk SWb. the leaves that were attached are for a l28 ( i think) petrol LWB. They only have 3 leaves to the pack ( F + R ) whereas mine atm have 7 up front and 8 at the rear.
( Flex? .... What Flex! )
My question is will the springs of the new diffs be way to soft with the weight of the diesel on them? I really dont wanna start removing leaves from my existing packs as they were only put there 30,000 ago by some one with a better back than mine.
Cheers

Remove leaves from the pack you have in there now.
How many you remove depends on what load you want to carry.
start at the bottom and work your way up. Mine had carrols with 7 in the front and 8 in the rear it now has 4 in the front and 5 in the rear. Works real well. Hope this helps

I recently got a pair of as-new front springs off an L28. I knew they'd be too soft for my MK diesel, but they were cheap and the ones that I had were w shaped. I've had them on for a couple of months and they seem ok, but they'll probably start to sag from the weight soon.
I'll be ditching them for a stiffer set as soon as I can afford it.

they will be to soft and will sag quickly, if you have nothing else then use them, but you will need to get some stiffer ones soon

I had alook at the flex in your buildup DR Frankenstine . If thats what you were running then then that looks like the go. I cant find the receipt atm to check which brand i have got. i might clean the springs and read the sticker attached. ( thats how new they are

) . How about trying to run the l28 rears? shouldnt be much weight difference at that end
