sanden 508

I have just fitted a sanden 508 to my GU 4.2TD. I was going to hook up the sucking side to the rockercover outlet at the back but noticed a pipe going to the air intake. So if I do this it will suck from the air filter side not the rockercove. anyone know what to do here please?
